ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT.

Last updated: May 16, 2025

At Empower Her, we are committed to making our website accessible to people of all abilities. Our goal is to ensure that everyone, including individuals with disabilities, can navigate and interact with our content comfortably and independently.

We have designed this site following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, and aim to conform to Level AA standards. This means our content is designed to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for a wide range of users.

What we've done so far:

  • Used the Wix Accessibility Wizard to detect and fix potential issues.

  • Set the site language to improve screen reader interpretation.

  • Organised content using a clear heading structure on all pages.

  • Provided alternative text for all images.

  • Maintained strong colour contrast to enhance readability.

  • Minimised motion and flashing content to reduce distractions and discomfort.

  • Ensured that videos and media are accessible and have captions.

Some pages on our site contain elements or widgets provided by YouTube, Pexels, and Pinterest, which are not directly controlled by Empower Her.

While Empower Her currently operates as an online initiative without a physical office, we plan to work with local schools and NGOS in Pakistan. Partner organisations will be vetted to ensure their locations meet reasonable standards of physical accessibility, including:

  • Wheelchair-accessible entrances

  • Marked service areas

  • Assistance for those with visual or hearing impairments, where possible

As this project evolves into physical outreach, we are committed to expanding accessibility in every way we can.

If you encounter an accessibility issue or need further assistance using our site, please contact our accessibility coordinator:

We welcome feedback and will respond within 3–5 business days.
